Stuart Dalmedo, an associate at ISOLAS recently attended a financial services breakfast conference in Casablanca. The conference was held at the equivalent of the Confederation of Morocco Industry (Confederation Generale Des Enterprises Du Maroc) CGEM and was co-hosted by the Vice-president of the CGEM, Mr Hakim Marrachi and Albert Isola, Minister for Commerce.
The aim of the conference was to promote Gibraltar, to highlight Gibraltar’s vision and strategic drive and to strengthen the corporation between Gibraltar and Moroccan business partners. Delegates from the private sector and the Gibraltar Government, including the Finance Centre Director, James Tipping, attended the conference.
Whilst in Morocco Mr Dalmedo also organised a series of meetings in both Marrakech and Casablanca with Moroccan based lawyers and businessmen. Mr Dalmedo explained that “It was a fantastic opportunity to visit these two cities and learn more about the Moroccan economy. It provided me with a platform to inform and update lawyers and potential business partners about what Gibraltar has to offer in relation to financial services and other areas of our economy”.
