Coinfloor becomes first exchange to secure a licence under the new DLT Provider Regulations in Gibraltar
ISOLAS LLP, Gibraltar’s leading DLT law firm is delighted to announce that one of it clients, Coinfloor, has been granted the first ever DLT provider licence under the Financial Services (Distributed Ledger Technology Providers) Regulations 2017.
Coinfloor, trading as CFE Limited, has this week been granted Gibraltar’s first license as a DLT provider, marking a very important step in the development of Gibraltar as a world-leading centre for DLT business in a regulated environment that seeks to protect the interests of participants in such business, to offer licensees the prestige of operating in a regulated environment created specifically for the industry and, finally, to protect the reputation of Gibraltar as a jurisdiction that is serious about doing this business right.
