Gibraltar Non-Executive Director (NED) Forum – going from strength to strength

03.03.2022

ISOLAS LLP have hosted the latest meeting of the Gibraltar NED Forum. This event, held on Thursday 3rd of March and entitled ‘Impact of FCA pricing changes’ was organised in conjunction with Actuaries Rock, the society for actuaries and those linked with the actuarial profession, working in Gibraltar.

The event featured contributions from Mohammad Khan, Partner, Head of General Insurance, PwC UK, and Sundip Mistry, Associate Director, PwC UK and covered how regulatory changes are set to impact insurance pricing.

The forum works to support NEDs (Non-Executive Directors) in their work on various boards, by sharing examples of best practices and value-adding ideas. The forum also works to promote the importance of having a robust pool of NEDs in Gibraltar, to educate the community on their importance and to ensure a constant stream of new talent into the sector.

The Forum holds regular events bringing together expert opinions from leading organisations on hot topics including regulation and innovation, including past talks from the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission, Art of Listening at Board Level, and Insurance Business by Gibraltar Finance.

Although it was initially targeted at the insurance industry its popularity has encouraged the organisers to broaden the forum, opening it to all NEDs (and those wishing to become NEDs), regardless of their sector or expertise. This popularity has seen the forum’s membership grow by 30% over the last year.

The forum is currently chaired by ISOLAS CEO Marcus Killick who himself sits on a number of local and UK boards as a NED.
