ISOLAS hosted another successful workshop yesterday in conjunction with Rock Learning. The workshop focused on comparing Gibraltar employment law to that of the UK.
The event proved to be on topic as it attracted over 50 professionals from various industry sectors.
Partner Samantha Grimes & Senior Associate Danielle Victor shared their insights with Samantha opening proceedings on protected conversations and compromise agreements covering legal requirements, risks, and outcomes.
Danielle then spoke on statutory entitlements including redundancy and the right not to be unfairly dismissed.
This was followed by a discussion on the obligations under the Employment (Bullying at Work) Act 2014, a unique piece of legislation to Gibraltar.
The Equal Opportunities Act and its protections were also considered with a particular focus on disability issues and retirement mechanisms.
After the event Samantha said “The event was extremely well attended and enjoyed by all. It was an opportunity to really focus, and compare the differences between employment law in Gibraltar and the UK.”
