Joey Garcia, Fintech and Financial Services partner travelled to Barcelona to speak at CoinAgenda Europe (http://coinagenda.com/), an event aimed at connecting and informing investors and entrepreneurs In the blockchain sector. Within the event were three mini conferences and Joey provided his input on the ‘Friendly Jurisdiction’ section of the day. This was aimed at covering ‘Economic development from legal and regulatory experts from around the globe’ and a debate on how each jurisdiction stacks up in terms of ‘tax, regulation, workforce and lifestyle/cost of living for founders and employees.’ Most of the panel discussion focused on regulatory developments in each of the principal jurisdictions of Gibraltar, Switzerland and Singapore, as well as the treatment of token sales and the developments in this space.
Marcus Killick, CEO of ISOLAS LLP travelled to Buenos Aires to speak at the principal south American conference LaBitConf. Marcus’ 50 minute panel was scheduled to be moderated by Juan Llanos of ConseSys alongside the co-panellist Jerry Britto, CEO of Coin Centre in Washington. The panel focused on global regulatory developments where attendees from across South America and the US showed a keen interest in the approach being taken by Gibraltar in its recently proposed Distributed Ledger Technology regulatory framework.
